We recently spent a week at the Paradisus Riviera Cancun and thought the food was great.

The food at Royal Hideaway in Playa del Carmen, Mexico (south of Cancun) is wonderful. No buffets in sight after breakfast.

My vote is for the Excellence Riviera Cancun Resort, 15 min south of Cancun. Gourmet food, top shelf liquor, no buffets, no reservations, no wristbands and adults only.

Thanks for your feedback. It seems like most of these are in Mexico. Are there any great all inclusive hotels/resorts in the Islands?

The Jamaicans do all inclusive better than anyone.

For the best food, go upper end hotels. Try Round Hill, The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon, and the Grand Lido superclubs.

Last year we went to Galley Bay Resort in Antigua. The food was great, no buffets, only A La Carte (even breakfast).

YOu also might look into some of the resorts in the carribean that offer meal plans, or do you also want drinks included.

Lots of islands/hotels offer dine around plans so you can also try some of the other restaurants on island.

Hope this helps.

What is a dine around plan? I have not heard about this. Is it a better value than al carte, if so where do I find this. Also, not that we want everything, but we also want beautiful beaches and ocean.

Yesss!!! Gotravel, you said Halfmoon before I jumped on the bandwagon. I second that emotion. Some of the best food I've ever eaten in my life...three trips and one coming up in late February. That gaspacho! Fresh cilantro, so cool and smooth. Best pancake syrup on planet earth. Chilean seabass. Ackee and saltfish, callalou. wonderful fresh fruit..crispy bacon...authentic Italian, and when we return, curried goat. Halfmoon, yep!!

The food at The Caves in Negril was some of the best food I've had anywhere. NO buffets. They will cook anything you want for breakfast, lunch is salad and pasta and there is a choice of two entrees for dinner (or both). Very gourmet.
