Mom and Pop hotel in Tulsa
I have to go to Tulsa in October for a conference in the Doubletree Hotel. I don't stay in huge, corporate hotels like Doubletree so I need a recommendation for something with some character. I like old and preferably unrenovated. Does old and charming exist in Tulsa? All the hotels online look like chains.

Thanks, mz.possum. Following your lead, I found The Crow's Rest, which looks very nice for the money. More of a charming farmhouse than the slightly seedy, atmospheric, old hotel I was seeking, but beggar's can't be choosers!
Thanks again!

There are two nice boutique hotels, both in old buildings and charming, but they are renovated. The Hotel Savoy is a few blocks outside downtown at 6th and Peoria, www.tulsasavoy.com.
The Hotel Ambassador is downtown, www.hotelambassador-tulsa.com. Their restaurant, The Chalkboard, is excellent.
Which Doubletree is your conference at? There is one downtown and one at Warren Place.
Do check out Cherry Street and Brookside.
Enjoy- October is a great time in Tulsa.
