Nice Hotels for Delhi, Agra, Jaipur
I am going to Delhi on business and am going to stay there several nights and would like to go onto Agra, then Jaipur. Any good hotel recomendations? I'd like to stay at a nicer place rather than budget but location and value are always good!

When are you going? There is very little in the mid-range. The upper range is now hugely expensive or completely unavailable due to the much increased popularity of India as a travel destination. If you are going in the off-season, (April - September) you might have a chance of getting a nicer place at a decent price.

For Delhi hotels, first tell me where you meetings are taking place as this makes a big difference in where you would stay; traffic is pretty bad in Delhi and you don't want to spend more time in it than necessary. It is likely you may even be meeting in a suburb like Noida or Gurgaon in which case my reccos would differ altogether. Let me know.
For Jaipur and Agra, the ones listed above are good reccos. In general, don't be swayed by websites calling a hotel a "luxury" or "5 Star" hotel. In India, the star rating means very little, it is really the hotel operator you need to use as a guide. IMO, Oberoi run the best hotels (www.oberoihotels.com), their "vila" brand hotels are expensive but quite an experience, sort of an Aman. As mentioned above, their Amarvilas in Agra would definitely be worth the splurge to have a Taj view room. They also have some 3/4 star hotels in many cites, usually under the "Trident" brand name (with the confusing exception of the Trident Hilton Gurgaon which is a stunning 5 star co-brand with Hilton). ITC/Sheraton are next on the rung (www.tajhotels.com), closely followed by the Taj Group (www.tajhotels.com). The Clarks Group would be in the third class, their website is www.hotelclarks.com.
You don't mention when you trip is, but if it is between now and the end of March, you will find hotels quite booked up in Jaiupr and Agra as it is the high tourist season now. Delhi hotels are almost always full due to the enormous amount of business travel there and to other cities like Mumbai. Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Make a booking as soon as possible. Same with flight bookings if you have not made them already, esp if you are going business class, these fill up quite quickly on flights.

For Jaipur I'd say try the fantastic Jasvilas, the best value for money place I've ever used, but don't take my word, the following review has 13 replies, everyone raving about the place, not bad for a $50 a night place.

I thought long and hard about suggesting this place on this forum, most suggestions seem to be for high budget places, so a bit of advice (and this is not directed at the original poster).
Lily and Mahendra (the owners) and all their wonderful staff are fantastic hosts, they go out of their way to take care of all guests on an individual basis (it's only a small place), they will adjust their menu, advise on anything you may be interested in (particularly shopping), and deserve the highest respect.
If your the kind of person who just looks for faults in hotels, spare them the trouble and stay elsewhere.

I took all the recomendations and booked an Agra and Jaipur hotel. That leaves me Delhi. My first several days I am going to be there on business in Noida and am thinking of staying at the Radison? I return later for 1 night of sightseeing. What's a nice delhi hotel with a great location for sightseeing?

Yes the Imperial has its own fan club on this baord, and I am a member, I like to think a charter member because I first stayed there in 1992. This is a lovely low-rise colonial-style hotel which was refurbished about 3 years ago. It is smaller and quieter than the larger chain hotels. You can walk to the Connaught Place area (and the great Indian handicrafts shop on the way), or walk in the other direction to Raj Path, India Gate and the Parliament buildings. I find it a very convenient location and I like the lower key of the hotel, the gardens and the friendliness of the staff. Go to http://www.theimperialindia.com.
