Tailor Singapore

We are planning to stop at Singapore in November on the way back from Australia on our Honeymoon. My new husband would like to have a suit made for him during the 3 days that we are in Singapore. Can anyone recommend a good tailor and how we would go about getting it made in the short time (we dont want to spend all our time there coming to and from the tailors).

In addition we would like to do the Sentosa island cable car at night, but we dont know what time it is open until.

Thanks!

I posted information on this topic earlier, but it didn't take for some reason. I'll repost tomorrow. Happy Travels!

Three days is cutting it close for high quality tailoring. You'll want to go to the tailor as soon as he opens your first day, and will need a fitting probably later that day plus teh next ans perhaps even a final fitting you last day.

I highly recommend Leighton's which is located in the Far East Shopping Center or the Far East Plaza (they are two different buildings, I can't remember which). This is at the intersection of Orchard Road and Scotts road.

Does anyone know the typical costs of getting a suit made. Is it cheaper than buying a readymade suit?

thanks in advance.

OK...I'm back. Try Carvette Fashion/Tanglin Shopping Centre #03-49(third floor...space 49). Tanglin Shopping Centre is at 19 Tanglin Road, Singapore 247909. The telephone number of the shop is...011.65.673.46.229. You can e-mail at [email protected] I e-mailed Alice a few months ago about doing some items for me and she returned my e-mail within 24 hours.I haven't had anything done there yet, but this is a place high on the list by the ex-pat community. I have another place I go to. I think Alice's place does men's suits...I'm not sure. I'm female. The Tanglin Shopping Centre is great...It's a shopping center that specializes in boutique after boutique of artifacts from Southeast Asia and interior design items from the region. Plus there's a great bookstore upstairs loaded with big picture books of different areas of Southeast Asia. There are a few other tailors there, too. Don't get this place mixed up with the Tanglin Mall which is a totally different place (it's just a regular mall) whereas Tanglin Shopping Centre is a small specialized Shopping Centre.Hope this has helped. Happy Travels!

For the price of a good ready-made suit in the US, you can get an excelent quality tailor-made suit in SIngapore.
