Warmest place in Europe for 6 days in December?
We are planning a 6 day stopover in Europe in December. We are a family of four: husband, wife and a 12 year old girl and 9 year old boy (both good travelers who loved Italy, Germany, Czech, etc). We are looking for a place that is warm and quaint where we can rent an apartment with plenty to do but at a relaxed pace. We were thinking of Barcelona, or Seville, (Greece looks to cold at that time). Let us know if any suggestions that might fit this bill. We will be flying on Ryan Air out of Frankfurt most likely on our way to India afterwards.
Thank you for any suggestions.

There are other cheap airlines that fly out of Frankfurt - to any of the Canary Islands for instance, all of which will be warm in December. Nicest ones are probably La Palma and La Gomera, though Tenerife and Gran Canaria both have very nice bits too (plus some seriously naff bits).
Barcelona could well be cold in December - we had snow there one year in November. the further south/west you go the armer it will be. If the Canaries don't appeal then maybe the Algarve will.

The only places guaranteed to be warm in December are
The Canary Islands
Maderia
Your house with the heating turned up.
Spain COULD be warm but it won't be warm enough to leave the jacket off in the evening
Do what Gaspard says - or look for a package holiday flight to Egypt

Thanks for the responses! We had not considered the Canary Islands and will look into that as a destination. I guess we should have defined "warm" since we are not necessarily looking for beach weather. A jacket even during the day is fine. We just don't want to be stuck with with 40F, blustery weather that prevents us from enjoying walking around town and seeing the sites, etc. Thanks again for all the input!
