Return to LaSource?

We went in early March last year and had such a great time, that if we can't decide between Palm Island or Young Island in the Grenadines or Biras Creek on Virgin Gorda noted in my earlier post, then we may just return to LaSource for a known relaxing time.

Would love to hear from those who have been to LaSource and especially from those who have made return visits to get your comments. Thanks to all who respond.

I have been to both Biras Creek and Palm Island. I would vote for Palm although it takes some effort to get there. Beautiful beach, great food and accomodations and excellent service. I was not impressed with the beach at Biras and the staff was less than helpful.

I also love La Source and have considered the possibilty of returning, return guests get a welcome pack and automatic room upgrade.

However, we are looking for another resort that can compare for our September Honeymoon, the only thing is that September is hurricane season and our choices are severly limited.

We were quoted an excellent rate for La Source, and so far it is #1 on the list! But, I am still looking.

We have been to both Lasource and Biras Creek. We enjoyed both very much, but they were very different. Lasource had a lot more organized activities, but no pressure to participate, and Biras Creek was very laid back. The only problem we had with BC was that it was very very windy. Definitely took some of the pleasure away from laying on the beach. Really enjoyed the outdoor showers.

We were at Lasource in 2000 and 2002. We did notice that things were a little run down in 2002 and the property needed to be renovated. Don't know if this has been done, but we really enjoyed our time in Grenada both times.

I have stayed at both La Source and Young Island.

Young Island is wonderful!!! The food is fantastic! The weekly rate includes 3 meals a day (the daily rate includes 2). A great perk.... if you stay a week, you can trade 2 nights on land for 2 nights on a sailboat (first come basis). The only negative..... they don't have a great wine list. Alcohol is extra.

La Source is truly all inclusive, including top shelf alcohol. The food at La Source is not as good as YI, but a daily massage is included in the rate. The quality of the massage varies; it depends on the person you get. Some are wonderful, some are okay. I loved my first visit to LS, but I was injured during my second visit due to their negligence.... a heavy umbrella, which should have been tied down, wasn't. It lifted in the wind, falling with a great force on me and then travelled a distance and landed on a frail elderly lady. It took 2 very fit men to lift it. (that's how heavy it was) No one at the hotel came to help. The guests took care of me, getting ice. I was bleeding. I hobbled to the nurse, who put ointment on it, but did not record it in the accident book (even though I asked her to do so). My knee and lower thigh were swollen the remainder of my stay (5 more days), I could not bend it. I reported it to the manager, but he didn't seemed concerned. I saw him every day and he never even asked how I was. I reported it via their email when I returned home and asked for my note to be given to the GM and to the owner. The GM replied, saying 'sorry' (and a note about how great their service was). The owner never replied. I asked for them to pay the direct costs of an MR (my knee was messed up for over a year), my health insurance would pay the rest, but they refused. I didn't want anything for me, just a direct payment for the medical bills.

My recommendation? Young Island. The service is better, the food is much better, the staff genuinely care about you and are very helpful.
