Has anyone stayed here recently? Need info ASAP. Am particularly interested in quality of beach, or if indeed there is one on the property. Have read several recent articles about Bel Air - looks charming, but am concerned about location, need to take taxis for other restaurants, activity offerings, etc. Don't need a "crowd" scene, but don't want to feel stranded either. Comments, other suggestions, please!

we looked into bel air as well. very charming and top of the line for the $. I could not justify the $500/night for some properties on Grand Anse. I conversed with Bel Air's owner and manager a bit. Excellent people. Gotten great reviews on T&L and Conde Nast.

They have a small beach but you can walk 10 minutes to La Sagesse's beach which is supposed to be wonderful. Yes you will need a car or transport to get to Grand Anse but we determined being off the beaten path was a good thing.

We ended up choosing La Sagesse and renting a car with the difference in $.

your opinion of the beach (it is supposed to
be very good), and whether you felt a rental
car was necessary. I do not want to rent a car, and wonder if I will feel "stranded" at La Sagesse. While everyone says Grand Anse
is a good quality beach, I generally prefer more secluded, private locations. Please tell me if you ate your meals at La Sagesse, how your accommodations were, etc. Thanks in advance for your kind input.

I have not been to Grenada yet. Heading off next Saturday the 17th so i can not answer your questions from first hand experience just research and other conversations.

Taxis seem fairly easy to arrange and even hire for a whole day.

Just got back from Grenada and have been reading this forum (it makes me envious that you are going and I am back to reality and cold weather).

Anyhow, I just posted some comments on Bel Air Plantation in another forum and thought I would here too since from what I can see you have not had many replies. I have not stayed at Bel Air but did dine there and also saw some of the villas. Just beautiful !

I don't think you would feel stranded, the place has a great restaurant, large pool and even a small grocery store and gift shop. Transportaion is quite easy in Grenada if you want to go to the "tourist belt" or town.

It is heads above La Sagesse but does not have a big beach. Being right next door I would guess you could walk to La Sagesse. The setting is really very pretty, lots of colorful flowers and plants.

As to cold, my poor daughter is in the throes
of the east coast/New England -40 situation,
so she should really appreciate Grenada.
