How Much is a Pack of Cigarettes In Las Vegas

Doing better with the smoking. Used to smoke a pack and a half every day, but after several failed attempts I've now cut back to "social smoking", a few cigarettes once or twice a week.

I know the moment I hit the tarmac in Las Vegas I'll be heading for the nearest cigarette stand. Generally, what's the price range out there for a pack of Marlboro Lights?

if you're worried about the price of cigarettes, you shouldn't be going to vegas.

Bring a couple of packs with you - not that heavy! - and then discard the unused before going home.

It's my experience that cigarettes are usually cheaper in Vegas. The last time I went I brought a few packs and paid more for them at home, in Houston, than they cost in Vegas. I think they're like $3.00-$3.50 a pack.

I was waiting on line to buy my lunch this afternoon at a deli, and was SHOCKED to see the guy ahead of me pay twice as much for his pack of cigarettes as I paid for my lunch! Crazy!

It's been 2 yrs since I've gone and 2 months since I've quit, but aren't cigs complimentary at the better casinos if you're at the tables?

Good for you that you don't smoke a pack and a half a day anymore. Since you've come this far, why not give it up completely? It's so easy to slip back and smoke just a few more and a few more, then you're right back where you started. Do your health and your wallet a favor and quit completely.

I don't think he was asking for advice on quitting. Al - cigarettes will definitely be cheaper in Las Vegas than in NYC. If you purchase them in the casino, they'll run around $5 per pack. They'll be cheaper outside of your hotel or casino.

I'd say he's going to buy them anyway whether they are $5 or $8 a pack. It's very trivial. Just go, buy them and have fun in Vegas.

Hey Al
How about buying generic menthol. That way you won't like them and won't smoke as many.

I've always had a theory, that the radical non-smokers are really ex-smokers who are afraid they might start again if they smell a little smoke.

Why do I continue to smoke? A few cigarettes now and then don't hurt anyone. Nobody ever died from smoking a pack every ten days.

To those who answered the question, thanks -- I'll figure about $5.

I just had an idea !!

Don't buy cigarettes! Some of the older casinos are sooo smokey, all you will have to do is inhale and you will have your fix

The last part about "no one has ever died from smoking a pack every ten days" is not true, Al.
Lung cancer is a process which starts with a cell mutation, and the number of cells which must reproduce to replace the ones damaged by the smoke increases with the number of cigarettes smoked.
But the necessary mutations which cause lung cancer can be induced by only a few years of regular use. The latency period, however, can be many years.

The point is that you are already at least at moderate risk for lung cancer if you've been smoking for several years.
Every additional pack just adds to your total risk.
And the old saying that 5-7 years after quitting your risk goes back down to that of a non-smoker is now known to be UNtrue.
