My husband and I will be staying at the Ritz Carlton Millenia. The rooms are supposed to be fabulous and have some of the best views of the city and water. It is still competitively priced...the Four Seasons and the Raffles right now are going for a bit more.

Thanks! We actually stayed at the Ritz in late Nov. 99 and it was as spectacular as they say. Did not know if there was another location we should try although our first thought was to definitely stay there, so I guess we will!
When are you going to stay there? If before Nov/Dec, let me know how your stay is by posting a response to this thread.
Thanks!

I have no experience of other Singapore hotels, but I enjoyed the Shangri-La, which is three hotels in one--a resort wing, a more businesslike wing (whose smart modernity and excellents views I preferred, having stayed in both), and a 'club' wing, all surrounding gardens and a palm-fringed pool. Service is top-notch. Orchard Road is five minutes' walk away.

Will throw in additional hotel, just a "block" away from the Ritz Carlton. The Marina Mandarin is quite attractive, beautiful rooms, atrium that is quite spectacular and good service. Perhaps not quite a Ritz but priced below that hotel.

I stayed at the Ritz last year and loved it. Great views, an amazing bathroom. Large room, felt like a suite, but only stayed in a regular room. Good breakfast. I only paid about $160 USD per night. Not bad in my opinion. I highly recommend it.
