Please help - booking hotels and apartments in Italy
I'm booking the rest of our trip in Italy. Have only booked our hotel in Venice so far. We're leaving May 2nd (less than a month)! A little last minute, I know, so any suggestions are really welcome at this point.
After Venice, we are spending a couple nights somewhere in the Cinque Terre. A couple friends of mine suggested staying in Riomaggiore since it isn't as touristy as, say Montorosso. I didn't find too much available there on venere.com, though. So I would love some suggestions.
Then, we are staying in Florence for three nights - think we have decided on Hotel Marine - part of Hotel Azzi: www.hotelazzi.it
Then, I wanted to spend a couple nights in either Asissi or Spoleto, or is it close enough to take day trips from Florence? Would love ideas in either place.
Finally, our trip ends in Rome. Have been emailing Isaac with rentalinrome.com. He sent me some suggestions and my husband and I like Parlamento apartment 120 Euro: www.rentalinrome.com/parlamento/parlamento.htm Looks cute and location looks good to me. Also liked Monti House: www.rentalinrome.com/montihouse/montihouse.htm
Anyone stayed at these places? Would you recommend them. Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks!

Just be aware that in Italy the first floor is one floor up from the ground. So the Monti apartment is FOUR flights up and not three. It's OK if you are in good shape.
Also check www.slowtrav.com for apartment recommendations.

I have found that I can climb three sets of stairs most of time, but that 4th one, with luggage or groceries, is not good at my age. I don't know your age, though. That said, the Monti apartment looks great and has AC.
I wouldn't say that Monterosso is any more "touristy" than the other CT towns. I actually liked it better because it was bigger. More to do, see, etc. The smaller towns are more full of tourists, by nature of their size.
I don't get the difference between the Hotel Azzi and the Hotel Marine. Are they noisy, considering location? Is there AC? Have you checked for comments on any other sites?

I do hope you take the advise to check slowtrav.com for reviews on Rental in Rome. They changed my mind about renting from them, so I went with sleepinitaly.com and was very pleased with their service. I've also used romanreference.com and had no complaints with them either.
