Day Trip to La Sagesse

We are planning a day trip to La Sagesse. Their website quotes a price of $45 for lunch and nature walk.

Has anyone been - any suggestions? Is their snorkelling? Also, is it possible to explore, snorkel and lunch a la carte rather than pay the full day price?

I love, love, LOVE La Sagesse. That being said, I would skip the $45 dollar lunch & tour and just who up and stay the day. You can rent beach chairs there for the day for EC$10 each and have lunch in the excellent restaurant. Then, at your leisure, take a hike on their trails. You don't really need to pay anything for that.

Unless the $45 also includes transportation and you're NOT planning to rent--then it would probably be worth it. Unless it's US$45 per person, then you'd come out ahead doing it on your own.

La Sagesse is gorgeous and is probably my favorite beach in the entire Caribbean, not just Grenada.

It is a good deal if price includes transportation. The nature walk is interesting, and the beach is one of the most gorgeous unspoiled ones anywhere. The water has small waves and is not gin-clear for snorkeling. We thought it was one of the nicest days of any in the Caribbean. Enjoy!!

I'm thinking about staying at La Sagesse next March; has anyone seen the hotel? (I know it's fairly remote; I just want to lie on the beach and read all day, anyway.)

I've seen the hotel on several occasions and even toured a couple of the rooms. The rooms lack a/c and can get a bit warm in the middle of the day, but they do have ceiling fans and the two that we saw also had mini fridges so you could keep some sodas or drinks on hand for mixing your own. Most of the rooms are within earshot of the waves and the breezes were always pleasant. I think La Sagesse is an outstanding value, and if I only wanted to lie on the beach and read all day, I would be happy to pick it.

You're right that it's remote, so if you're fine with that and with simple but pleasant accommodations, you'll very likely love it. And the freshest seafood on the island is served in the restaurant there--they don't serve it if it wasn't caught that day. The rum punches ain't bad either, and you can order them blended with ice to make them even more refreshing.

Thanks for suggestions - I think we'll just show up and pay a la carte. We are renting a car for a few days so we'll include the trip to Sagesse on one of those days.

I was curious about La Sagesse's hotel, so I looked on the website.

There is one room with air conditioning, at only $110/night during the summer season.
