Hello, we'll be staying in the St. Germain des Pres area, rue Jacob specifically. Can anyone recommend any inexpensive Chinese and Italian restaurants? I have only seen one Chinese place listed: Mirama.<BR><BR>Thanks!

You'll find more Vietamese restaurants than Chinese in France. <BR><BR>And very tasty they are too! Give it a try!!

Although I cannot give specific recommendations, we did eat a chinese restaurant in the Latin Quarter, fairly close to St. Germain (we stayed in St. Germain). There were quite a few Chinese restaurants in the Latin Quarter.

We had a wonderful Italian dinner at LaVilla d'Orsay in the St.Germain area. The price was good and so was the food. I don't have the address with me but can get it if you want. Just let me know.

I ADORE La Locanda (Italian)on the rue dragon just caddy-corner from the Deux Magots...the owner is absolutely charming and he and his wife decorated the 2 story intimate space so wonderfully, you would think you were in a Tuscan villa... food is fantastic, great prices. Such good prices you can splurge and order the Brunello AND limoncello.<BR><BR>Buono appetito,<BR>Wendy

Here are some places. The center of Paris is also the most touristique. Choosing an hotel in a central area is practical but finding inexpensive restaurants in these locations is much harder. Here some addresses as you requested but be aware that there are many little bistrots serving delicious French food that will cost as much as the italian, chinese or vietnames places. If you are on a budget, go shopping for Bread, cheese, charcuterie, get some wine and go to aone of the numerous parks. Paris is the greenest capital of the world There are a lot of charning little parks to visit and enjoy. Picnics and alcool are allowed.
