Recommendations for inexpensive Chinese and Italian restaurants in St. Germain des Pres area of Paris

Hello, we'll be staying in the St. Germain des Pres area, rue Jacob specifically. Can anyone recommend any inexpensive Chinese and Italian restaurants? I have only seen one Chinese place listed: Mirama.

Thanks!

Although I cannot give specific recommendations, we did eat a chinese restaurant in the Latin Quarter, fairly close to St. Germain (we stayed in St. Germain). There were quite a few Chinese restaurants in the Latin Quarter.

We had a wonderful Italian dinner at LaVilla d'Orsay in the St.Germain area. The price was good and so was the food. I don't have the address with me but can get it if you want. Just let me know.

I ADORE La Locanda (Italian)on the rue dragon just caddy-corner from the Deux Magots...the owner is absolutely charming and he and his wife decorated the 2 story intimate space so wonderfully, you would think you were in a Tuscan villa... food is fantastic, great prices. Such good prices you can splurge and order the Brunello AND limoncello.

Buono appetito,
Wendy

Here are some places. The center of Paris is also the most touristique. Choosing an hotel in a central area is practical but finding inexpensive restaurants in these locations is much harder. Here some addresses as you requested but be aware that there are many little bistrots serving delicious French food that will cost as much as the italian, chinese or vietnames places. If you are on a budget, go shopping for Bread, cheese, charcuterie, get some wine and go to aone of the numerous parks. Paris is the greenest capital of the world There are a lot of charning little parks to visit and enjoy. Picnics and alcool are allowed. Good luck!

VIA PALISSY 11 rue Bernard-Palissy Tel: 01 45 44 02 52 Métro: Saint-Germain-des-Prés
Spécialité: Italienne 10 to 15 euros

CAFFE TOSCANO 34 rue des Saints-Pères Tel: 01 42 84 28 95 Métro: Saint-Germain-des-Prés
Spécialité: Italienne 10 to 15 euros

KOO-A 214 rue St-Jacques 75005 Paris Tel: 01 43 54 57 72
Métro: Luxembourg
Spécialité: Chinoise
Good and generous portions between 10 and 15 euros

The French were in Indochina until 1952. So Vietnamese restaurants are more numerous in Paris than chinese. Vietnamese food is more subtil, more delicate than chinese, yet not as spicy at thai. There is a vietnamese colony of former refugies in the 13th district, consequently lots of restaurants there, inexpensive and serving great food.
Paris is very accessible by subway, there is a subway stop within 500 feet from any address and the system is easy to follow although it takes a little to get used to.

LE FOYER DU VIETNAM 80 rue Monge 75005 Paris Tel: 01 45 35 32 54 Métro: Monge Spécialité: Vietnamienne
Neither the outside or inside look very impressive but go in and discover an inexpensive yet delicious and delicate food. Were you not too excited about Mirama? I liked it. It reminded me of Mini Garden, a noodle shop here in Honolulu's Chinatown.
