Chicago Candy Factory Tour?

I'm visiting Chicago soon and thought it would be cool to do a candy factory tour. I can't find any information on one. Does anyone know of one in Chicago (not Jelly Belly in North Chicago)? I know Marshall Fields closed their factory but thought there were others.

Greetings - Fannie May and Fannie Farmer candies are made here in Chicago. I believe their office is somwhere on West Jackson Blvd. and the candy is produced by the Archibald Candy Company.

Hope this gives you a start - maybe you can find out more info on a search engine. (Fannie May is the best!)

Have fun in our fair city - hope the weather remains good for you!

Cheers!

Tootsie Rolls are manufactured in Chicago...but I don't know about a tour. I'm sure you could do a web search. There's also a large candy complex in the west suburbs...Mars, I think.

There is a factory called something like Blommer or Bloomer that may have tours it is located near Metra's NorthWestern station downtown (sorry this is so vague) The M&M-Mars factory is in Oak Park Illinois they may have tours.

Hi,

You should also check out World's Finest Chocolate on the southwest side of the city. It is Chicago's only fundraising chocalte. Remember the bars sold by little league temmas - well, they are made here!I know they give tours and samples 1-800-wfc-fund

I'm petty sure that Mars no longer gives tours. Check out this link:

It appears the factory in Oak Park is open, but they don't offer tours.

Hope this helps. Please post if you DO find a good factory tour. I know that LemonHeads are also made in Chicago, but don't know anything about their plant.

Karen,

This is a 10 year old thread. I don't think we will be hearing a report from the OP.
