comparing Radison vs. Crystal

Help! We're looking at European/Mediterranean cruises and considering these two ships. Anyone been on both to compare? We're interested in very good food and very good service. Nightlife is not too important (a piano bar is OK) which has the best food and the best service? Thanks! Marcie

Never been on Radisson but I was on the Crystal Harmony once in fall 97. Crystal is top of the line in terms of food and service but I think sometimes their itineraries are not as good as other companies. I met lots of people who refused to sail any other line after going on Crystal.....they are fiercely loyal!

Marcie,,,
If its the best of everything you want, look no further than Crystal,,,either the Harmony or Symphony will provide nothing but the best of everything. That's my experience coupled with that of those who have 'done it all'.
Best of luck,,,enjoy!!
Hi Marcie,
I am a travel agent and have been on both cruise lines.
Both cruise lines are about equal as far as service and food (definitely gourmet). Both cater to the older crowd and the dress is rather formal.
Radisson has the Song of Flower which is an older smaller ship but is well maintained. The Paul Gauguin is a large yacht. The Diamond is definitely the smoothest sailing due to the design of it's hull.
I prefer the Crystal line since I just love their staterooms.
Questions? Write me. Paul
