going from amsterdam to salzburg with 1 toddler and 1 infant so will bring luggages and strollers

cant find direct flight between the cities in summer

so, i find many way to go

1. train only with change in koln / frankfurt / muenchen
- how is yrain changing if i have many luggages and trabelling with kids, total travel time is around 10hours

2. flight + train
a. flight to munich then train to salzburg
b. flight to vienna then train to salzburg
c. train to cologne then flight to salzburg

which is best to take in my case ?

also if i stay in cologne for 2hrs only?, what can i see around ? suppose i will put luggages in storage or lockers..

A two flight option you have dismissed would be faster, easier, and safer. How many adults are there?

There is also a night train, but you would still need to change in Cologne and Munich.

direct flight is not there in summer.. or i dont may be it will be there (but in the web its not there (august))

for 2 flight option which airline have good fare ? really never came to my brain..

I don't really understand what you are doing, you can easily fly Easyjet between those cities, although not direct. Yes, you have to transfer at SXF, Berlin, but obviously you just buy one ticket from Easyjet for that trip, AMS-SZG. Basic fare probably around 100 euro. The entire flight will take 5:15 hrs, and that includes the transfer. https://www.easyjet.com

Easyjet does hve direct flights but it does look like they stop in April. The website is acting odd as it won't show you the above connection but you can do it, at least on Mon, Thurs, Fri or Sunday. try www.skyscanner.net

I'd chose flight to Munich then short train ride to Salzburg (can use bargain Bavarian Pass for all for a total of around 35 euros from Munich Airport to Salzburg. See www.bahn.de/en for details. easyjet via berlin actually good idea but turn out very expensive with luggage (150€) , without luggage its 100€ and still OK.

also how is stroller usually in these low cost carrier, donwe have to pay to put them in luggage ? or is it free ?

Assume nothing is free on Easy Jet - just ask by e-mail. Amsterdam to Berlin is a possible day train ride - about 5.5. hours I think and if get discounted tickets could be a lot cheaper than flying and you can carry on any luggage you can carry on. www.bahn,de/en for booking own tickets.

Oops scrap taking train to Berlin - did not catch that the suggestion to fly to Berlin was to change there for Salzburg. Berlin of course would be way out of the way.

2 hours is enough to see the world-famous Gothic cathedral - right next to train station. Put bags in luggage store in train station and then take S-bahn trains to Cologne Airport (Dusseldorf Airport about really close too so check flights out of there.

wow.. i didnt know about dusseldorf airport.. and sommany direct flight by eurowings.. i think dusseldorf is my best option now..

You could take train Amsterdam directly to Dusseldorf and S-Bahn to airport.

thx palenq, 1 more question.. in europe which is more on time usually ?
low cost airplane or train ?
cause both bookings are non refundable and if the first is delayed then all goes bad..
