Santiago to Valparaiso

What are the options available for transportation for the two of us from Santiago airport to Valparaiso? DH and I are older, so hoping for an efficient, comfortable way to get there. Thanks for all advice.

Your best bet is to arrange private transportation (taxi) from the airport. Transvip offers the service and has desks near luggage pickup and also outside arrivals. You can book in advance on their website and pay on arrival. The cost is approximately US$170 for the car.

If you are catching a cruise then you should go to Cruise Critic and find your cruise forum. People often share private transportation.

I do not recommend taking the bus option from airport to Pajaritos and then a bus to Valparaiso bus station and taxi from there. It is efficient and cheap but not the best option for older travellers.

How old is older? 60? 80? The bus option is not especially difficult. Your checked luggage is hoisted in and out of the bus holf by someone who gives you a ticket. However, I would not want to be arriving in Valparaiso's downtown during daylight. And I travel with only one checked bag, and a backpack.

I agree with Huentetu. Given your statement, "DH and I are older, so hoping for an efficient, comfortable way to get there." I don't think you would want to deal with the bus despite it not being difficult.
