Granada Spain and Surrounding Areas

My DH, DD and DS are going to Granada Spain in April as my oldest DD will be at the University there. We want to make 'camp' in Granda (maybe an Air BnB home) and then travel around as my DD will be busy with school and may not be able to just travel with us, but we want to be where she is. We plan on doing a day trip to Cordoba, but also want to do some day trips elsewhere. We want to visit historic sites, museums, but my DS will definitely want to do 'activities'. Are there hiking areas or maybe even zip lining in the Sierra Nevada? What would be a good beach town from Granada? Golf course? We also plan on staying 2 nights and 3 days (?) in Seville either in the beginning or ending of the trip which will be in and out of Madrid, but don't plan on staying in Madrid. Any advice??

Will you be there before, during or following Semana Santa? Easter Sunday falls on the 16th next year.

There definitely are hiking areas and several activities available in the Sierra Nevada. You might look into the Poqueira Gorge in Las Alpujarras.

And consider staying overnight at least one, if not two nights, in Cordoba -- IMO, it offers MUCH more to see than can be seen in even one long day trip.

For activities, check Lonely Planet and the Rough Guide -- both cover that kind of thing.

A drive up to Trevélez is a fun outing or even overnight stay - google it. And while you're there, hike: See http://www.treksierranevada.com/walk...arras/trevelez
