Two days in Vancouver in Juy

Trying to plan our two days. First day take Hop On Hop Off Bus. then have dinner at Joe Fortes. Second day see Fly Over Canada and then take shuttle to Grouse Mountain. Any suggestions. Any good recommendations for dinner for the second night. We are staying at the Shangri-la Hotel

Hi simorules, Joe Fortes has a very popular Happy Hour, which is very good, but there's always a lineup, no reservations for that, so get there early or be sure to make a reservation for dinner.
There's every kind of food you could want in Vancouver so could you give an idea of what you like and your budget?

We want a good seafood dinner. Willing to splurge. Would like a recommendation for another night for dinner fairly close to the shangri la hotel. Is it a safe area to walk to joe fortes from the hotel? Any sight seeing tips for two seniors?

For seafood we like Yew at the Four Seasons, very good.

Lots of Asian influence food here, Blue Water Cafe in Yaletown, is one of Vancouver's top seafood places, it's fine dining.

Also Miku, foot of Granville St, very good sushi, specializes in aburi sushi, and comes with great views

Haven't been to this one but it's well recommended,
Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar in the Sutton Place hotel.

For French try Provence Marinaside, a lovely spot,

Good, high end Cioppino's Mediterranean Grill, not strictly seafood,

That should get you started simorules

Yes it 's safe to walk downtown and all these places are in the downtown core, either a short walk or a short taxi ride away. Nice hotel choice!

If you are at all worried about safety, just ask your hotel concierge for walking directions to where you want to go, but Joe Fortes is absolutely close and safe.

Will give some thought to some sightseeing tips.

Simorules here is a website that is a good planning resource:

http://www.tourismvancouver.com/plan-your-trip/

Your hop-on hop-off will take you to Granville Island , Gastown, Stanley Park. You haven't mentioned any mobility issues, so be sure to explore Granville Island. In the summer there are always fun things going on there.

We also have some very nice gardens; Dr Sun-Yat Sen Chinese gardens which is near Gastown, Chinatown area.

Coal Harbor is not far from your hotel, and a lovely place to walk along the sea wall or just sit and people watch.

Hope you have a great time! Vancouver in summer is a beautiful place.
