London to Paris by train

Dear travelers,

Two questions:

a. Which is the fastest train from London to Paris? Which train station do we pick in London? Which train station in Paris?

b. How to buy the cheapest ticket?

Thanks,
Dipti

http://www.eurostar.com/us-en/train/france/paris

Because I searched from the US, all the Eurostar links I came up with were directed to US customers.

If you are somewhere else, just google Eurostar.

There's basically just one train, from one station in Paris/London to one station opposite.

It's very easy and there isn't any picking involved.

Cheapness, I will leave to someone else. I do believe that certain times of day are more expensive than others, and that advance purchases can lessen the price.

Yes, the earlier you buy the cheaper. And some times will be cheaper than others.

Do not allow yourself to be redirected to Rail Europe.

You get the best prices 90 to 120 day out - as soon as the Eurostar tickets go on sale. And do look at prices for trains at different times - they can vary a lot.

When we have gone, trains at non-commuting hours (after 9 and after ?) were less expensive whenever one bought. It may have changed.

I just purchased 4 tickets from Paris to London and back on June 1. Second class tickets were 39 euro each way in a roundtrip purchase. The times of departure did impact the cost by as much as 13 euro.

I used www.captaintrain.com to make my selections and purchase. It is available as an application for iPhone, and I assume androids as well.
