Selecting terme to visit on trip to Milan, Lake Garda, and Tuscany

My husband and I our traveling to Milan, Lake Garda, and Tuscany in July 2016. I am looking to find the best spa experience during our trip as far a ease of visit and availability of a 2 to 3 hours time slot . There are Terme in Lake Garda - Terme Virgillo, Centro Benessere, etc. vs Termi di Montecantini. We are in Lake Garda for 3 days then driving down to Tuscany about 25 minutes South of Florence. Our stay in Tuscany is 4 days afterwhich we travel to Lucca.

We could have the spa experience in Lake Garda during our stay or stop at Montecantini on our way to Lucca. I like the photos of the spas in Lake Garda with the outside pools looking out over the lake but am concerned about the crowds in Sirmione. I was thinking of visiting the ruins in Sirmione early in the morning and then heading to the spa for 2.5 to 3.5 hours. OR should we just enjoy the ruins and leave before the crowds.

I would appreciate your input, especially from those that have actually visited any of the spas in these areas.

I suppose you know that there are more than 30 spas along your itinerary

Neckervd- thank you for the website. Yes. I have researched baths online. You are correct —there are many.

What I am looking for is feedback from those that have personal experience in visiting baths in northern Tuscany or Lake Garda to help in selecting one. The baths I wanted to visit were in Saturina but that is further than we want to travel.

We have used the Terme in Sirmione, but that was while staying there. Sirmione's version is not (usually) crowded to excess and the facilities are excellent. The tourists usually confine themselves IME to the Roman ruins and the small village itself and the area beyond the shops isn't too mad.

Rubicund - the write ups and photos I have seen of the termes in Sirmione are beautiful -- very inviting. I have researched 3 of them and also saw for one of them a chart indicating the busiest time being later in the day. So my thought was to visit the ruins first thing in the morning and then head to the terme in Sirmione -- which looks like it is operational at 10 am. We will most likely leave Sirmione afterwards, depending upon the crowds. Do you remember which terme you visited?

It's the one on the left as you walk up to the tip of the promontory using the road on the west side of Sirmione, opposite the Hotel Olivi, which was where we were staying.

Can anyone give feedback on Parco termale del Garda in Lake Garda?

Not been, but we were put off by some very mixed reviews. It didn't seem worthwhile to go up to Lazise when we were so close to Sirmione.
