Can anyone recommend some local in country tour companies out of Lima? Am wanting to make the most of a short time in Bolivia.
Thanks!

I am confused. Lima is in Peru so you won't find any "local" tour companies there. Try http://www.andeantravelweb.com/peru/index.html for Peru companies. And Kanoo Tours in la Paz for Bolivia ( which I suggested in one of your previous posts

As far as I know, Peruvian travel agencies aren't allowed to operate inside Bolivia. Anything booked in Peru gets contracted to a Bolivian agent. When I took a tour starting in Puno and crossing into La Paz, they even switched guides on us.

I see crellston is already on top of things.

Here is the company that does the (expensive) bus/boat transfer into La Paz via Isla del Sol. Any prices you see quoted online are likely to be outdated. I was able to book in Puno, but there were only a few agencies that could handle that booking. You may find it easier to arrange through a hotel in La Paz.

Maybe the Grupo Rosario travel agency can help you, although my first choice is also Kanoo Tours as crellston mentioned.

Hi hilavik, we were impressed with Banjo Tours located in La Paz. We planned our trip to Bolivia independently but took a walking tour with Banjo Tours which we really enjoyed. We also communicated with Ben at Banjo about a trip to Sajama which we didn't take due to time constraints but were impressed with his willingness to work with our restrictions and prompt communication.

Don't bypass Bolivia and if nothing else, take the Lipez and Salt Fat Tour. You will be blown away....

I keep mixing La Paz and Lima as well. They shouldn't alliterate.

Peru Hop and Bolivia Hop are local companies that operate in both countries and FindLocalTrips is a website with which you can find local operators in Bolivia but you can book them online and it's safe.

I've used both during my trip and I was pretty happy with my trip. It all depends on what you want to do of course.
