Napoli Centrale: Luggage/Storage Lockers?
My traveling companion and I have some time to spare between checking out of our apartment in Rome and checking into our apartment in Sorrento. I know we take the fast train to Naples and change over to the local to Sorrento (downstairs), but I'd like to know if we can stow our suitcases at the train station and do a short tour of Naples on the way.
What would you recommend trying to see in a couple of hours? I know the archeological museum is stellar but don't know if we'll have enough time.
Thanks.

In my opinion, the best short tour of Naples is this--As long as you are at the train station, take bus number 32, right at the Piazza Garibaldi, where the station is located, and ask the driver to let you off the bus at VIA PETRARC. The bus travels the complete length of the via, but get off at about the third or fourth stop there. You will see the most fantastic (in my opinion) sight your eyes will ever behold! I know you have seen photos of the Bay of Naples, with Vesuvio in the backgound, but when you see it in person, you will be astounded. I go there frequently, on my visits to Naples, and every time I go there, it's like the first time. It's breathtaking.

Also, as long as you are in Piazza Garibaldi, ask directions for ATTANASIO's bakery, in the piazza. They have the greatest hot sfogliatelle you will ever eat, as well as great hot cannolis and other pastries. Also, while you take the bus ride to Via Petrarc, you will have a fabulous sightseeing view of hectic Napoli in the flesh.

No Italian stations I believe have luggage lockers - oh some have them but they have not been used for years due to terrorists threat - same reason as most French stations don't have them - except large stations with screening devices like at an airport.
