Got this today from SNCF announcing that tickets will be sold for dates nine months into the future. I think this is the longest lead time I have ever seen.

Frankly, I think that people obsess too much about saving just a few euros on their train bookings. While I have only snagged the 19€ fare just once, I regularly pay only about 25€ or 30€ for my cross country trips, and it is not by hovering over my computer at midnight 90 days in advance. Most of my trips are booked 30-60 days in advance and the fares are just fine then.
