Barbados with two kids under 4.
Hi all,
We are planning a family trip to Barbados in March of 2015. I just reserved a suite at the historic Crane resort, which seems to be good for kids and has great beach even though a bit isolated. Felt pretty good however just started reading up on Bougainvilea beach resort which seems similarly priced and has solid reviews for family trip with young kids. If anyone has experience or advice on which resort is a better first time experience with kids please share. One reason we chose Crane is because it looks to have a separate pool for our 2 year old, even though we will probably be at the beach most of the time.
Thanks!
James

Do you intend to swim in the sea? The sea can be rough at the Crane. It certainly is in a beautiful area however. I don't think there is much to be gained by changing to the Bougainvillea as it is also on a rough beach. So it depends on your priorities, if you wish to swim in the sea and prefer calm waters, you should be looking for hotels on the west coast, in St James or St Peters parish. If you are not bothered about swimming in the sea, stay at the Crane.

Hello jwalker1,
The beach day on the west coast ( i.e calmer waters sounds great.) Not familiar with the kids facilities at these hotels , however both hotels offer strive for great customer service especially the Crane. The hotel should also be able to recommend some great tours or attractions.
It sands as though you will rent a car to get around the island. This would make up for the convenient location of Bougainvillaea to shopping , supermarkets island restaurants etc.
Have a fun trip!

Not meaning to hijack this thread but my husband and I will be at Bourgainvillaea in February.(our first time) We are undecided about renting a car. It sounds as though we are in a good location and can walk to restaurants? We would like to rent a car maybe for a day or else take a tour as we would like to explore as well.
