swim after Christmas at Hoi An vietnam?

We reserved a house for 5 days at the beach near Hoi An in Vietnam at the end of december. We are visiting our son who is teaching english in saigon. Is it going to be too cold and rainy to enjoy the beach? Are we dumber than dirt?

If you are from Santa Monica, you may find the weather too cool for swimming in the ocean. Average high at that time of the year is 75F, average low is 68F. While you are likely to get some rain, it is unlikely to rain all the time. Many would consider that weather ideal.

That is very good news. We live in maryland. 75 will feel nice in december. I want to swim and sit in the sun, eat crispy spring rolls and watch the ocean.

It won't be too cold but it may have crazy weather patterns that it is tropical rain for 1 hour then super sunny and nice the next!

We also visited the beach that was a little out from Hoi Ann, took us 15min by bike and was lovely, the water is pretty cold though!

Good luck,
Jenn

It is too cold and not safe to swim in Dec, especially at Cua Dai beach due to recent erosion. If you would definitely like to swim, you can better try An Bang beach.
