Best Site of Finding Holiday Flats in Germany
We are traveling in Europe for two years and have had great success with AirBnB and Homeaway. In Germany, however, they don't seem to be as great, possibly because there are German language sites?
Any ideas for the best sites to find holiday apartments for six people? We are looking for places in Nuremburg and Fussen at the moment.
Thanks!

For some reason, you haven't mentioned VRBO which is one of the biggest. I think they are related to Homeaway but I'm not sure they have the same listings. You could check.
I don't think most vacation apartment rental websites have only the local country as their target (perhaps even the opposite), so I doubt if the reason is that you want a German-only language website. I suspect there just aren't as many.
YOu can check Flipkey, they have a lot in various countries. Also look on Tripadvisor (they have 21 in Nuremberg), and on www.booking.com, they list apartments now.

Hi arewecrazy,
The best sites, imo, is the town's own website, which usually lets you search by date and number of travelers, and lets you know if the location is central. For instance, at Fuessen's webpage
www.fuessen.de
there is a box right on the opening page to search. You can select "room" or "holiday flat"; obiously you want the latter.
The German word for vacation apartment is Ferienwohnung -- so you can just search for "Fuessen, Ferienwohnung," and you should get lots of replies. Make certain that you use the correct spelling of "Fuessen" if you can't put the umlaut over the "u" (which I can't on my tablet).
Some German sites for Ferienwohnungen (plural of Ferienwohnung) are:
www.fewo-direkt.de
www.ferienwohnung.de
Have fun as you plan!
