"The Games are open to all adults - regardless of sexual orientation or athletic ability. With more than 35 sports (from darts to triathlon, bowling to softball) and 2 cultural events (band and chorus), there's something for everybody."

So the answer is "yes", Dukey1

There's billiards, bowling, darts, and ice hockey, but sadly no horseshoes, curling, jarts, or mumblety-peg on the list. Still, looks interesting.

Cleveland rocks!

I have friends who have competed in ballroom dancing.

It's a shame Cleveland didn't get the gay rodeo.

Here's a bit of an update from the Gay Games, currently underway in Northeast Ohio:

...On Tuesday, a 99-year-old great-great-grandmother from NYC set the world's record* in the 100-m dash with a time of 59.8 sec: http://www.ohio.com/news/local/great...mes-9-1.513047

...On Sunday, cowboys and cowgirls competed in the Gay Rodeo in Tallmadge OH, a suburb of Akron. Typical rodeo events took place, as well as goat dressing and steer decorating: http://www.ohio.com/news/local/gay-r...s-say-1.512444
------------
*for 95-99 year-olds

starrs: They did get the rodeo!

We have a distant relative that just won a gold, silver, and bronze in various figure skating events.

I'm honestly impressed by the reports of these games that I've been seeing in the local media. Has there been any coverage elsewhere?

There certainly has been on my Facebook feed. One friend has won a lot of gold in swimming and another has posted a lot of rodeo and dancing photos (ballroom and line dancing). They are having a great time.
