Croatia - nine days

Just looking for some recommendations for a 9 day itinerary in Croatia.

We are a couple early 30's, this is the last leg of our European holiday. We love the beach, markets, amazing scenery, and cute little villages, towns etc. Not to much to ask by the sounds of it in Croatia ! Just being in a different country and experiencing their way of life is exciting enough for us.

Of course nine days we can only see so much and we don't want to rush around trying to see to much so what would be your best advice? Also wondering if we should hire a car for the duration?

What would be your ultimate 9 day Croatian holiday - mid range budget.

Thanks in advance, Mascelle

Hi Mascelle,

As your 9 day holiday will be around two cities, I would recommend to enjoy time on one of the beaches on the Hvar or Brac island.
You can make trip to Kotor, Trogir and small villages where you can try domestic cheese, prosciutto and vine.
Generally, Croatia is not expensive. You can rent SOBE instead of hotel rooms and meet people who are very hospitable.

A sobe is a room for rent. If your guidebook(s) don't cover that, I would suggest that you might want to consider other guidebooks, whether you purchase them or get them from your local library.

I agree. Apartments for rent are much cheaper than hotel rooms but the quality of accommodation is not much different. Of course, not every apartment is the same so be sure to google reviews before booking them.

What month will this trip occur? Split, and island, and Dubrovnik would make a perfect itinerary, but in August, for example, I would not visit Hvar. And in winter I would likely leave off the island.
