getting from osaka to kochi, japan

Is there a good way to get from Osaka to Kochi? We will be based in Osaka, probably by Namba Station and would like a day trip if possible to Kochi to buy their delicious katsu boshi.

no, I don't know of any place in particular but was thinking that a four hour train ride one way would mean at least 8 hours on a train round trip for something I have seen used as a topping on many foods all over Japan. With all the stores and restaurants along the Namba walks and Dotonbori I am sure someone has it for sale or uses it as a topping. I know of one store in Namba walks that sells packaged foods that would probably have it or something very similar. I don't read Kanji so don't know the name of the place but if walking down NW from JR Namba its about 3/4 of the way down the walk on the left side......store that sells all packaged candies, arare, dried cuttle fish, squid, shaved dried fish and probably your katsu boshi......can't miss it

Aloha!

Osaka has a Kuromon Ichiba Market which houses hundreds of food stores. May be you can try too?

"katsu boshi" means Katsuo-bushi?

Then you can buy some in Osaka.

Although it could worth tasting Katsuo related foods at Kochi.

Especially, if you prefer to see scenery on the go.
