Sherry Triangle Day Trip From Sevilla

I'll be in Sevilla in a couple of weeks for 5 days and with my rented car would like to do a day trip to Jerez area. I plan to leave Sevilla around 10 AM and would like to be back around 5 PM. Any suggestions for itinerary? Would appreciate where to go for lunch, sherry tasting, old villages to see. No more than 3 cities in total, with Jerez counting as one stop.

Do you plan to visit a sherry bodega? If so I think you'll be hard pressed to visit more than 1 or 2 cities. You'll need to book your visit in advance so the timing of the tour may guide your day. For example, if you take a noon tour in Jerez it will last 90 minutes and by the time you finish with lunch it will be 3pm or so. If you leave Sevilla at 10 you'd arrive in Jerez around 11 or so giving you a little time to wander around before the tour. If you want to return to Sevilla by 5pm then you'd need to head back at 4pm. If lunch goes until 3 then you have about an hour - you could do a quick visit to El Puerto.

The motobike GP is held between 3 65 May 2013 plus the Feria del Caballo 2013 is between 7 &12 May 2013. Hopefully your "couple of weeks" time is not planned during those dates. It will be busy in the area.
Some Bodegas will require reservation others close for part of the day.

Please do not forget that drinking (that includes tasting) and driving do not mix.

You really don't need a car if you want to visit Jerez as a daytrip from Sevilla and even to stop in El Puerto. Definately agree about not drinking and driving!

The best place to visit the Sherry Triangle would be from Jerez itself.

One question. Why would you want a rental car in Sevilla? Are you aware of the traffic conditions, one-way streets and parking?
