Partying in Prague...on the weeknights?

Hi everyone,

I am a girl in her mid-20's who is planning a massive backpacking trip across Europe and thus far, my itinerary includes 3 full days/nights in Prague from Monday - Wednesday toward the end of May. One of the big draws of Prague (aside from its stunning architecture) was that it seems like a great place to go out during the evenings with many varied nightlife spots (pubs, clubs, beer halls, wine bars, and more). Does anyone have any experience visiting Prague on a weeknight and exploring some of the nightlife options? What were those experiences like? Did bars tend to be pretty empty? I'm not much of a club-person, but I think it'd be fun to meet some locals or fellow travelers at a bar and unwind after a day of exploring the city, and I wonder if it's worth it to adjust my schedule to try to arrive a bit later in the week (Thursday - Saturday). Feel free to let me know of your experiences - I'd appreciate it!

Thanks!

I don't know the club scene in Prague I am way way too old for that BUT something that may be of interest to you whilst in Prague is the Czech Beer Festival,it is on from the 16th May to 1st June, lots of beer ,other drinks, food and live music, last year they did a couple of all night things as well ( I was in my bed by then).

I will be there from the 23rd May till 30th may.
a website that may give you some info on nightlife is theis one
http://www.livingprague.com/night.htm
It is run by a good friend of mine but even he is getting on a bit now but his info is very good and gives you links to lots of places.

The last time I visited Prague there were tons of young people in old town square in the afternoons. You can easily meet people there.

I'd also post on the Lonely Planet Thorn Tree forum as there are more younger people there.
