Hotel Christmas week in NYC
Need a nice but inexpensive hotel (around $100) that provides easy subway access to Manhattan. Any recommendations for something in Queens, Brooklyn or NJ that is an easy walk to a subway stop?

The subway doesn't go to New Jersey.
You can look in Long Island City - but be sure the hotel is very close to a subway. Country Inn and Suites is supposed to be OK - but I don't think $100 is realistic - especially since you need a larger room with 2 beds - versus a standard room with 1 double bed.
Sorry - for that night their best rate s $178.50 plus tax - so about $200. Frankly that is a steal for holiday season - and I doubt you will find better at this time of year.
$100 is not a realistic rate for NYC - for anything even clean and decent - except in Jan or Feb. Nice is a whole other price point.

PS $100 is rarely possible in a good location in/near NYC, but the date you're talking about is closing in on NYE when prices go crazy. If your date is flexible, you'd have better luck on the 23rd but still struggle to get as low as $100 within decent commute.
