Buenos Aires -- best time of year?

We're just beginning to think about 2 weeks in BA next year and I'm so excited to be planning a trip! We haven't been off this continent since 2010.

I'm a little concerned about time of year, though. As my SO is locked into a school schedule, we can only go from about the last week of April through mid-August. I guess we could also go during the winter break next year (between Christmas and New Years but that would only give us about 10 days there).

What do you BA experts think about the first two weeks in May?

Make it as soon as possible, ideally starting in late April, our fall.

Have a great time in our country with your SO.

OK, thanks, avr. I'd like it to be early rather than later too.

Hi GTG: Don't go in July/Aug. I don't know if it was unseasonable or what, but we absolutely froze. I had to buy gloves, woolen scarves and a hat and we were still miserable. N caught a cold; it's the flu/cold season then. We hardly saw a temperate day for 5 weeks. I would go with avrooster's suggestion of late April. That sounds perfect. You will have a wonderful trip. The weather should be fine and the cafes open and people will not be bundled up. BTW, the woolen scarves I bought there were absolutely beautiful and I use them here in Southern CA, so the weather did serve some useful purpose after all.

Hi annetti,
I'm so sorry -- I know I owe you an email and I'll get to it maybe this weekend so we can get caught up.

As far as BA goes, the earliest we can go is the first couple of weeks in May but everything I'm reading indicates that the weather is still good then.

I can't wait to start planning!

You will have a wonderful time. BA is beautiful; and the food is the best ever! May sounds good. And if you like to shop - it is a paradise. Beautiful leather goods. Annetti
