Costa Rica - No Reserrvations early through mid July??

Do any knowledgable travelers have advice for me regarding going to Costa Rica without reservations in early through mid July?? read that we'd be fine but noticed recently that many of the hotels on Trip Advisor and hotels.com are booked or nearly so. Travelinng with kids so a bit more concerned if it was just adults. Dont want to wind up with poor accomidations but wanted to be able to stay longer or shorter in the areas we are considering which are, puerto Veijo, Tortuguero, Arenal, Samara, MOntezuma, Manual Antonio. I realize we cant do all these in 2 weeks but these are our current possibilities. Thanks in advance to anyone with input.

Hey Joe, we go every year around that time with no reservations. However, we are not that picky and enjoy the cheaper cabinas over the pricey resorts. Often we get better deals with no reservations and paying with cash. The exception to that rule is Puerto Viejo. We really like Banana Azul and they are always full so reservations are a must. Samara is not an issue unless you want something right on the beach. Arenal has a ton of choices.

It all really depends on your must haves (AC, TV, WiFi, etc) and your sense of adventure. We enjoy doing it this way but others might find it stressful.

We always book way in advance because we want specific hotels, views, etc. but if you just want someplace to stay and are flexible, that's not a busy time of year.

Is recommendable book in advance. but no worry , that is not a busy time of the year in any place. You considered some of the most beautiful areas in Costa Rica, But sides, Caribbean and Pacific Coast, Full Beach .. Arenal is wonderful , full Nature.
