Allen Mnyenye

Can anyone provide any knowledge of using Allen for a safari recently?

I had Allen as my guide in Tanzania when I booked with Kibo Guides. I know that he also has his own safari company. He's also a part owner of Tanganyika Wilderness Camps and has been involved in the building of many of their camps and lodges. Even when I had other guides on other safaris, I'd run into Allen and he would always remember me. I think he's one of the finest guides in Tanzania. You can't go wrong if you go with Allen!

I just got back from a 5-day safari with Allen, and he's absolutely great. Here is the review I posted of him on a different site:

LAX-Esq, your review was "spot on"! That mirrors my experiences with him. He loves to share his knowledge of Tanzania and wildlife. His guiding skills are superb and your description of his being patient and knowing animal behaviour are correct. That led to our seeing some incredible interaction between a wildebeest, lions and a herd of elephants. Allen has traveled to the US as a guest of his clients, so he has experienced our culture and relates well to Americans. As you note, his command of English is excellent.

Just returned on the 19th of Feb from a 12 day trip with Allen. It far exceeded my expectations. Knowledgeable, urbane, patient, passionate about the welfare of the wildlife and of the people lass fortunate than himself, he takes the roads less traveled, which meant that we saw more wildlife and far fewer safari vehicles. His company has three other vehicles with their own driver-guides, all of whom may be equally terrific, but I had no interaction with them. Go with Allen!
