London hostel suggestions
my daughter and a friend will be in London for a weekend - any suggestions for hostels in London ? They are studying in Dublin and are on a tight budget - I want them to be safe, yet experience traveling the frugal way. thanks

Let's Go Europe is the Bible of backpacking youth and IMO the best source for run-downs of dozens and dozens of hostels. Asking Fodorites for hostel info is like asking grandpa and grandma what is the best current music for young folk - not a clue for the most part. Try posting this Q in Lonely Planet's Thorntree Forum where many young travelers post.

Have her look at YHA - www.yha.org.uk. We were really pleased with their properties in the UK. www.astorhostels.co.uk also gets good reviews from at least one Fodorite.

I usually stay in hostels and agree with ElendilPickle that any of the YHA hostels would be good.
I've read so many glowing reviews of Palmers Swiss Cottage Lodge that I'll probably stay there the next time I'm in London. See here: http://tinyurl.com/775ytrg.
