Which area Bangkok is the most convenience to stay?
Hi, I just want to know area off Bangkok would you guys recommend me to book my hotel in? I read that most of you prefer Adelphi Suites because of the location and near Skytrain. Is there any other choices? Thanks!

There is not one most convenient area to stay in Bangkok, let alone one best hotel choice. Carol loves the Adelphi Suites and a couple of other people have stayed there, but for the most part, we are all over the map in terms of where to stay. Personally, I always stay by the river. I like the view, the proximity to the water taxi, the cooler, cleaner air by the river. Others like to be right in the middle of the downtown shopping district, like Carol.
I think many of us would agree that access to public transport is important. There are many dozens of places with good access to public transportation.
Also, decide if you want a serviced apartment or a hotel. Some love serviced apartments, but I prefer the full-service of a hotel club floor.

I like the Sukhumvit area. Hotels in all price ranges from cheap hostels to luxury hotels. For most hotels you will have an easy walk to restaurants, malls, street vendors, nightlife and even travel agencies for tours. One advantage of this (lower) Sukhumvit Road area is the availability of the Skytrain. (Overhead rail service.)

I am a first timer to BKK, so by no means an expert like some of these guys. we're staying at Adelphi Suites and really r happy to be so close to the BTS. so wherever u stay stay in close walking distance to the BTS.
we have spent a lot of time going back and forth to the river area since it seems there r several sites we wanted to c nearby. also with the heat, it's a bit cooler near the river.
we like the As, nice room, helpful staff and easy access to BTS. It seems to have alot more going on in the area at night. a friend who lives in BKK says the river area is "dead" at night in terms of clubs, but understands why people stay there.
there really is no best location, really depends on what u r looking to do.
