budget for 2 week trip

I am trying to work out a budget for my daughter who will be travelling in Europe this summer - Italy and France. She's travelling with 3 girlfriends, staying in hostels and sharing rooms in hotels. Not sure what limits to put on her spending for the two weeks. Hostels are not as cheap as I thought they might be especially in major cities! Thanks for any help or advice you might have.

You'll want to re-post this over on the Europe forum. Not only is that the appropriate board -- a LOT more people will see your questions over there.

have done it a lot when I was young

recently advised my son similarly.

backpackeurope.com

hostelbookers.com

Avoid train pass always a rip off and busabout also a rip off

Train like a local point to point seat61.com or if

going all over www.eurolines.com youth bus pass makes

sense from 10 euro/da sometimes.

eurocheapo.com great budget tips lots of times with 4

cheap hotels shared baths work out way cheaper and

better than hostels.

kayak.com/buzz get cracking on booking flights

that will be her biggest expense.

Happy Planning!

for lodging budget food everywhere

35 eu in the south and 50 eu in the north

pppd works well for most these days

exclusive of transport.

My son made it fine all over recently with friends

for under 35 euro per day.
