Colorado National Monument and Grand Junction Colorado

Planning a trip to Grand Junction from Denver in late June. Need ideas on things to do and weather.

Worthwhile nearby attractions include Glenwood Springs, Glenwood Canyon, and Arches NP. The drive to Arches on Highway 128 is very scenic.

According to weather.com, June weather in Grand Junction is very similar to the weather in Denver except that it rains much less in Grand Junction.

Grand Junction is less than 2 hours from Moab, you could do a day trip to Arches or Canyonlands.

Hi,
I live in Grand Junction and there is quite a bit to do. Is your trip adults only? How long will you be here? The Colorado National Monument is on the west edge of town out of Fruita. Very scenic, good hiking , and probably will be a national park in a year or two. Many wineries around the area with nice tasting rooms, and far as I know they still don't charge for tasting. Our downtown has super shops, resturants and fun bars, and creative sculptures scattered along the tree-lined street. Several golf courses including award-winning Redlands Mesa. Lots more, but I will quit as I am beginning to sound like the Visitor Bureau.

Have fun.
Linda
Oh yes, our weather at that time is VERY hot, usually 90-100 degrees.

I second Linda's suggestions, she helped us when we went. Colorado National Monument is really nice.
