Biodegradable sunscreen for Mexico

I understand we will need biodegradable sunscreen that does not contain certain ingredients specified by the Mexican govt. for use at certain locations while we snorkel and swim near Playa del Carmen. We are not going to Xelha or Xcaret but are going to and around Akumal, some cenotes, etc.

We are leaving in a few days, no time to order any online for delivery now.

Can we buy the correct sunscreens somewhere in Playa del Carmen? Where? Does Walmart there carry the designated brands?

Thanks in advance

How are you getting around? Rental car, taxis and collectivos, or are you taking a private transfer to wherever you are staying? I just booked a transfer (one-way in my case) to Akumal today with USA Transfers. You can pre-order the sunscreen and when they pick you up at the airport they give you the sunscreen and you pay them. It is an SPF30 so I did not order it, as I need an SPF8. But it is biodegradable and others on different forums report good experience with it. You would have to order the transfer with them though, as that is their primary business. Otherwise maybe ask at your hotel where it can be bought. Not sure what the Super Chomak store in Akumal has these days, they do have sunscreen, just not sure what types.

Thanks, we leave tomorrow am and have a car rented in Cancun to drive to PDC and all the other places we plan to go around there.

Will just deal w/getting the sunscreen when we get there. Thanks again.

The WalMart in downtown Cancun has biodegradable sunscreen, as do some of the tourist shops in the Cancun Hotel Zone. It appeared to be readily available because of the dolphin swimming options. Not sure about shops closer to PdC.
