We'll be visiting Vancouver for the first time with a toddler. We've narrowed our choice down to the Sutton Place Hotel, Sutton's La Grande Residence, or the Pacific Pallisades, due to location, cost and suites. <BR> <BR>We've read all the postings about them, but are still stymied. Has anyone else stayed at La Grande Residence? How would it compare to Sutton's hotel rooms, or the Pacific Pallisades? <BR> <BR>If you had a choice, which would you stay at, if you had a toddler? <BR> <BR>Any suggestions much appreciated! <BR> <BR>Thanks, <BR> <BR>Mike

The Sutton Place rates CAA/AAA five Diamonds v.s. the Pacific Pallisades three. That should tell you a lot and even without the rating difference the Sutton Place is located in a slightly better location although that may be debatable. <BR> <BR>The Pacific Pallisades is noted for being popular with movie people who are here for only a short time so if you're into star gazing you'ld have better luck at the pallisades. Other than that I can't think of any reason to choose the Pallisades over the Sutton Place. <BR> <BR>La Residence is basically full facility one & two bedroom apartments with all the services of the Hotel. certainly if you can get a comparable price in La Residence it would be more than worth it.

Hi Mike, <BR> <BR>Gary's got great advice. Kind of off topic, but there's a book out there called "Vancouver for Kids" - listing all the baby/toddler/child-friendly places in the city (ie: restaurants, stores, attractions, etc). There's also a website called "Find Family Fun" which also features all the things Vancouver has to offer for kids. I don't think they have information on which hotel is best for a toddler, but they do have great information on everything else! <BR> <BR>http://www.findfamilyfun.com/

Thanks to everyone who replied - I really appreciate all the excellant suggestions. We hadn't turned our minds to restaurants or activities (completely overlooked them), but I'm very glad for the recommendations!! <BR> <BR>I've settled on the Sutton's Grande Residence. The Pallisades was the most expensive, and we were worried that the Sutton's regular rooms would be too small (suites too expensive). As an added bonus, the Grande Residence was also the cheapest ($189 - includes breakfast). <BR> <BR>Again, many thanks for the advice. If anyone's actually stayed in the Grande Residence, we'd certainly be interested to hear of your experience. We'll post a trip report once we're back. <BR> <BR>Thanks again, <BR> <BR>Mike
