Best place for children in Myrtle Beach

I can tell you that the absolute best place for kids is Kingston Plantation. It's the only reason we go to MB. I already have reservations for this summer for our girls and kids trip (no husbands allowed). It's a very beautiful, nicely landscaped gated resort with condos rather than just hotel rooms. We get a 2 bedroom with a kitchen and 2 bathrooms, having a kitchen is great with kids. They even have 3 bedrooms.
The best part of all is the on-site waterpark open to resort guests only. My kids stay there from morning until dinner until we drag them out. We just read, swim and gab while the kids exhaust themselves in the waterpark. If they get tired of the WP (yeah, right) there is a free kiddie camp and of course the beach and ocean. IMHO the only place to stay in MB. Check out the website kingstonplantation.com. They have some great AAA rates too.

There are 2 places I would highly recommend. The first and our favorite is the Forest Dunes. website: www.forestdunes.com
The second is the Patricia Grand; NOT Patricia North. Both of these are wonderful and have great amenities for the whole family, especially children.

I'd say search the web for Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce and ask for a vacation guide. There is one motel that has a massive water park within their borders that I viewed myself and believe children would love. It's just been such a long time since I've been to Myrtle Beach and can't remember the name of it.

Your probably talking about the Sea Mist Resort - but if you want a "resort" like place I wouldn't recommend it. The rooms are older. But it does have a few water slides, small mini-golf & ice cream shop. I am with the first person - Kingston Plantation is GREAT. And it's right between Myrtle Beach & North Myrtle Beach so your close to all the restaurants, mini-golf, etc

I agree with the above poster. We took our kids to the Sea Mist some years ago and it was terrible. The pools were so dirty you couldn't see your kids in the water. It was spread out too far too. At that time it was on both sides of a busy street. When we used to take the kids we liked the Captains Quarters. They had nice efficiency apartments and it was far enough away from the hoopla that you weren't bothered, but close enough to get to it if you wanted to. Being as MB is basically a family resort area I think any place would welcome children.
Due to crowds and traffic, we have moved our base of operations to North Myrtle.
