Walking at Ka'anapali Beach
Just returned from our umpteenth trip to Ka'anapali (Maui). It is such a great destination for families and thus can be so crowded, as it was this past week. That's the downside. The upside is that I think of all the places I have visited in Hawaii, Ka'anapali has the best walking. I walked it every morning for the last ten days and it was amazing every time. Photos here:

I love to walk but cannot hike due to back problems. Ka'anapali has one of the most accessible beach walks I have seen - other than a few slight inclines it is almost entirely flat. The path stretches all the way from the Hyatt at the south end of Ka'anapali Beach all the way up past the Westin Villas at North Ka'anapali.
Some people might prefer a more secluded area but with kids and grandkids, Ka'anapali is a great destination. We like the Westin, where kids can easily go back and forth from the pool to the beach. Snorkel cruises depart from the beach right in front of the hotel. Whalers Village Mall is right next door as well as the famed Hula Grill, where you can dine with your feet in the sand and watch the sunset.
Already plotting my next return...

Hi Katydidnt, I like that walk as well. What else do you like about the Westin? We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Maui last year but it was spoiled by having just stayed at the Grand Hyatt Kauai. The poor Hyatt on Maui just couldn't come close. I'd like to return to Maui but want to find a different hotel.

Hyatt Residence Beach Club in Ka'anapali...2 bedroom/2 bath villas...newer and next to the older Hyatt...it was humid this week!
Westin Ocean villas are nice..stayed there a couple of years ago but I really like Honua Kai..where Duke's is at...luxury condos.
Agree on the foot path to Black Rock to Hyatt Regency..great to run/walk to and from Whalers Village to Hula Grill..Leilani's is being remodeled.
Gotta go early while its not so hot..
Wore my swimsuit under my T-shirt and shorts so I could jump into thee pristine waters to chill down.
