Booking a train and pulling out my hair doing it!
I'm trying to book an overnight train from Jaipur to Udaipur and doing so from Canada seems to be a problem! I'm using makemytrip but it is not getting me to the reservation and pay? ? Any suggestions!

I suggest you contact a travel agent in whatever city you'll visit first. Send them a list by email of all trains you want and they'll deliver them to your hotel on arrival in India. That's how I've done, never a problem. It beats the struggle.

If you really want to do it yourself, in case you haven't looked already, this might help:

We have booked trains many times from home here in the US. Definitely use Cleatrip or set up an account with Indiarail. I think that an issue sometimes can be the extra layer of security measures India has.

It can be difficult to pay with a non-Indian credit card (though some people manage it) - it is much easier to ask someone in India to buy the train tickets - most hotels have access to a ticket agent who will organise them for a small charge and give them to you on arrival (or email them if you pay in advance). You need to know the train number and class of travel (not all trains run every day and they don't all have all the classes - you can check the schedules on the Indian rail site.

It is almost impossible to purchase a train ticket in India from overseas. I have created about three different IDs on the Indian train website each one requiring a different e-mail.
Many years ago I used Cleartrip and it was a breeze. However last year their site would not allow me to book beyond a certain level. They could not help and were extremely slow to follow up. In the end I asked our driver to book the tickets in Jaipur and he e-mailed them to us. I paid him on arrival.

Are you speaking of beyond a certain DATE? If so, there are no train schedules that I know of anywhere that are available indefinitely. All I know of are something like 3 or 4 months. India 4 months. https://www.seat61.com/India.htm
