Where to stay in Bandon OR and Brookings OR

Hi, I will travel in the middle of July from Bend to San Carlos CA. I am looking for places to stay overnight in Bandon or area and Brookings or area. Our group is four adults and dog. Me and my wife and son with wife. I'm looking for places on budget. Any suggestion is welcom.

They're only 85 miles apart, so if part of the decision is which town, IMO Bandon wins in a landslide. It's our favorite Oregon coastal town. Outside of VRBO none of the lodgings there are particularly stellar, but if you pick one of the motels overlooking the beaches south of town, the view makes up for what the accommodations may lack. We've stayed in Sunset Oceanfront Lodging and the Bandon Beach Motel. Both are pet friendly, so it's a coin toss for you. If you end up at the Sunset, choose a room in the Vern Brown Addition.

Sorry, haven't been to Brookings in decades.

I would not stay in both -- as FITC says - they are not far apart. I'd choose Bandon myself. But >> I'm looking for places on budget.

The reason for making two stops is that we would like to visit some State Parks and take pictures. My hobby is a landscape photography. Regarding budget everything, less than $100 per night is good for us.

Is that under $100 double? (i.e. under $200 for all four of you) ? $100 would be pretty low on the coast in July. Though some places probably do have 4 person units for at/under $200

Years ago we stayed at the Lamplighter Inn (Bandon) which I'd guess is under $100, but I doubt there are many other options. More in Brookings maybe since it's less of a tourist town.
Re your photography interest, besides Brandon's beaches, check out Shore Acres State Park on the coast west of Coos Bay.

Yep -- the Lamplighter would be w/i your budget -- but I'd book ASAP since it is just about the cheapest option in town it does tend to fill up in the summer
