I and a middle aged friend are reaching Porto (Opo Airport) and wish to travel to Lisbon the same day. Have been getting conflicting advice about preferred mode, Pls suggest which is best, Air Rail or Bus or any other. pls suggest mode of travel. Shall arrive at Opo airport with appx 25 kg luggage. each.

Also need advice on how we should spend our time, we have only two days. Would the same mode be good for return to Porto as well.Any precautions. Any suggestions of website on which we can book travel tickets.

I know you asked yourself but you have no way to fly into Lisbon ? It will take you a good part of a day to commute.
I did it by car and it was several hours. I am sure there are trains.

I took the train from centre of Porto to centre of Lisbon. It was about 3 hours. I took First Class. It was cheap and comfortable.

Book a train from just €15 at Portuguese Railways www.cp.pt and print your own ticket.

The train ride becomes PART of your vacation, not transportation before it starts.

But allow loads of time, and maybe have a look round Porto. Just like connecting flights booked separately, your ticket is worthless if there's a flight delay and you miss the train.
