I enjoyed reading about your trip and your great photos. Sorry you had to deal with hurricane issues. I usually think of CR as being safe from hurricanes, but not always I guess! I was curious when you used the words dirty and unpleasant to describe the canals - is that because the water is muddy looking? The canals were very clean when we were there, but agree the water is murky. Awesome that you saw an olinga - we've only seen one in all our trips - that's a great sighting.

Thank you volcanogirl.. Yes hurricanes are not common in CR. This one was supposed to go through panama but took a turn and headed to CR.. what a timing right ..
Yes i meant muddy.. otherwise the surface was very clean..
