Just got an email that my Air France flight from JFK to CDG tomorrow evening has been canceled (due to an operations malfunction or something) and we've been put on a flight that leaves JFK at almost the same time (1 hour before) and lands at Orly an hour earlier.

We did our homework to get from CDG but this is a whole new situation. What would you suggest to get from Orly to the center of Paris? Our metro stop is Breguet-Sabin. Is it less of an early-morning hassle just to take a taxi? And does anyone know the approximate cost of a taxi?

We also were all set to get the museum pass and the metro pass at CDG. I am assuming these both can be bought at Orly too?

Orly to rive gauche is 30 euros flat rate not tip required. Rive droite is 35 euros.
Other solution is Orlyval then Rer B then connecting via metro. 10 euro per person.
Don't bother. Follow sign taxi refuse help and take an official taxi.

perfect, thank you! My brain isn't at its best after a transatlantic flight and while I'm great with NYC subways, I'm sure we could manage this but then again, why bother.

I assume you can buy the RATP metro, bus, etc pass at Orly but if taking taxi why waste time - museum passes are sold at participating museums too - I always go to a less visited museum like the Conciergerie where there are usually no lines - at Louvre you must wait in the general ticket line I believe.

Orly is closer, so it's only good. I take the Air France airport bus but I stay in Montparnasse (which is where it goes, to Montparnasse train station, then the Etoile). that wouldn't be convenient for you. That metro stop isn't even near the RER, either, I agree I'd just take a taxi, especially now with the flat rates that make it pretty cheap for two.

taxi it is! Boy, wait til Hikrguy hears about this when I get home from work. We bought our AF tickets back in February and carefully selected our seats. All that's out the window now. There's nothing like a last-minute change to get the adrenaline flowing.

oh, as for the passes, sure, you can buy them at the tourist information booth at Orly just like at CDG, if you really want to get them then (the TI booth is at Gate A or Gate L arrival level). I don't know what kind of metro pass you are talking about though, but there isn't any reason to buy that pass or ticket outside the metro given all you have to do it go in and get one from a machine when you want one. I can see how getting the museum pass would save you perhaps waiting in a line at some museum. I don't know what kind of metro pass you can buy at a TI booth myself, never done it, if it's only the tourist pass, I wouldn't get it (Paris Visite).

Just jump in a licensed cab - quicker and cheaper than from CDG.

Get Metro tickets or a Navigo Pass in the first station you use. If you need Navigo, bring appropriate sized photos.

If you want the Museum Pass, go to any museum and buy it there - exceptions being the Musee d'Orsay and the Louvre.

Christina, Just detail: There are no more air France buses in Orly or CDG. Business is now under "bus direct" brand. More or less same service (with additional stops, I think, to/from Orly in La Motte Piquet and Trocadéro).
Agree with others: Take a taxi. Flat fares are Great. Thank You Uber for the new competition That forced taxis to put an end to the rip off

We flew into ORLY and had to get to city center (near Eiffel Tower). There are 2 diff taxi queues -- taxis to suburbs or taxis to city. So clear & well-marked. We paid about 30 Euros (for 2 of us). Easy as pie. I would do that again in a heartbeat w/ luggage. Rest of time in city we walk or use public transport. But that one piece of transportation, I felt it was 30 Euros well-spent.
