Hi! So I get married in Chianti, Tuscany on 1st July 2017. We arrive the Wednesday prior and our wedding celebrations will be from Friday to Sunday with our guests leaving on Monday. After our guests have departed we want to have a bit of a mini-moon and use our time in Italy to see more of the sites. We must be home for the following Monday as we both have to return to work

Outside of this we are really flexible but completely hopeless. I'd love to see everywhere - Amalfi Coast, Capri, Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan etc. but obviously that's not possible in 6 days. We will pick up a car from the airport to use for the wedding and will quite happy to drive for the entire holiday if this is possible? Also happy to fly back home to the Midlands, UK from any airport in Italy and have a lot of choice to fly back into.

Can anyone suggest how to split our time wisely, so see the best Italy has to offer without being absolutely exhausted as, after all, this is our honeymoon ?

Pick one or two only. You have to choose, but here are some ideas.
Take a train to Naples and then spend the entire lot on the Amalfi Coast and on Capri, before flying home from Naples.
Drive around other parts of Tuscany, then drop the car and spend 2-3 days in Florence before flying home.
Replace Florence with Rome or Venice if you want to keep the car a few more days.
You could also just stick to Tuscany. The only problem is narrowing down your list to just enough to enjoy without too much. congrats and enjoy!

Or you could drive through eastern Tuscany, Umbria, and Le Marche, and fly Ryanair to Stansted from Ancona. That would be a nice restful, unstressed road trip.

All good ideas, but I wouldn't want to change hotels more than once on my mini-honeymoon. 3 nights Positano and 2 or 3 nights Capri sound good to me.

Thanks guys! We've done Tuscany on our trip to view hotels earlier this year so would like to explore more of Italy.

I'd love to do Rome (I love a city break!) and Amalfi coast. Do you think it's too much to do both if we leave Chianti on Monday morning and catch a flight for the UK on Sunday (5 full days)?

I'm struggling with flights from Naples back home (only find Friday flights) but lots of choice from Rome...

Sorry guys just re-read what I've wrote and it sounds like I haven't listened to you at all (but I had!! honest).

I agree that I need to narrow it down and I would be happy with the Amalfi Coast/Capri - very romantic for a honeymoon - but I'm struggling for flights back home to the Midlands for anything other than the Friday.

I was thinking to drive to Amalfi coast from Tuscany (too far?) have a few nights there and then drive to Rome have a two days in the city and catch our flight home...

My geography is awful so not sure if this is possible or ridiculous?

Time the drives on the viamichelin website, but I would not take a car to the AC in July (which means dropping in Naples and time-consuming transfers). Though 3 days on the AC and 2 in Rome sounds okay in general, there will be some time wasted in transit. If you want some relaxing coastal time before Rome, just whiz down to the Maremma coast of southern Tuscany. It's on the way, gorgeous, and full of Italians!
