2 weeks in Europe, starting from London.

My husband, two children and I are looking for a two week iternary from London, eventually ending in Greece, and ultimately flying back to the states from London.. . We will be spending a few days in London initially and would like to spend some time in another country before heading to Greece. We've been to Europe several times and Greece is one place we haven't explored.. We love luxury travel and luxury hotels and service.. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Assuming you mean 2 weeks total -- you will have 11.5 days on the ground. So if you wan t a 'few days' in London, then you really only have enough time for Greece. Maybe 2 days in Athens and the rest on a couple of islands.

If you wanted to squeeze in a one day/night stop over in some other city -- you could but that would just add more packing/unpacking/hassle

If you do not already have plane tickets, I strongly advise flying into London and out of Athens, or vice versa - into Athens and out of London would be better. For flights between London and Athens see skyscanner. com.

I agree with janisj that you really only have time for London, Athens, and an island or two. Or some of mainland Greece, which is a worthwhile destination itself. (See, for instance, http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...-in-greece.cfm )

Well, we already have tickets coming in and out of London. We arrive July 14th and depart July 28th for the states.. Greece isn't necessarily a must but I really wanted to go someplace we haven't been to before. Last year we did London for 2 days ( we visit London frequently) then headed to Naples where we went directly to Almafi, then on to Florence and ended in Lake Como then headed back to London. The year prior we did London, Paris, Munich, Zurich and a short jaunt through Austria, year before that London, Croatia etc.. Year prior to that Spain, Brodeaux, French coast, year before that London, Paris, coast of France, Saint Tropez and Monte Carlo.
We are no stranger to 2 and 3 day stays here and there just to get a feeling of the area, then heading back to wherever we love at a later date.
I would be open to any luxury vacation that is easy to get to from London but preferably somewhere we haven't traveled to before. If anyone has some suggestions other than Greece, I'm open Thank you!!

You have sort of boxed yourselves in by having round trip tix in/out of London. If you wanted to go someplace else it is better to book open jaw tix. But since you seem to do this frequently -- you probably know pretty much how to squeeze in another country.

I would book a flight to Greece immediately upon arrival in London (don't leave the airport). The do London at the end of your trip. No need to go there twice. (Or the other way around.)

On skyscanner.com search the London airport to GR. Search hotels on booking.com.

How about Spain? Search Es. Madrid there are a lot of non-stop flights. Then search Es back to London.
